Guest Painter in Leighton's Studio

Clarissa James March 22 - June 7 2011

Leighton House Museum continues its initiative of inviting a painter to work specifically within the historic studio space at the museum. Spring 2011 sees artist Clarissa James working on her canvases in the space and discussing her work with the visiting public. In her work, James searches for an atmosphere of beauty and meditative calm and stillness in contrast with today's hectic life.

Meet the artist: every Thursday and Saturday when Clarissa will be based in the historic studio at Leighton House (excluding Easter weekend, May 14 & June 4).

Artist's talks: will take place on April 16, May 7 & May 28 at 3.00pm when Clarissa will talk about her work and its relation to Lord Leighton and other painters of the 19th century. Talks are free. Museum admission applies.
