Tableau Vivant Residency programme - London

Infos

Frédérique was invited by the Leighton House Museum, London, to be artist-in-residence and continue her photography research on the theme of Orientalism: an art for exploring. The main activity of the residency was living tableau, that is, a group of people arranged as if in a painting. These Tableaux Vivants were inspired by the photographers’ voyage of discovery and connection to the scenes and personalities depicted in the works of Lord Leighton.

Tableau Vivant was an artistic and educational programme designed to help disadvantaged children (from Community and Refugee background) based in London. The aim of the project was to develop better communication skills, to build self-esteem and confidence and to provide a unique means for expression and creativity through the use of digital or film-based photography.
